Our Trip to the Fish Hatchery!

We've been learning all about fish in the classroom.  Last week, Mr. Dave came to visit with us and taught us all about fishing (he loves to fish), and showed us all his gear.  Today, we went to the Powder Mills Fish Hatchery in Powder Mills Park.  We saw different kinds of fish and learned a lot about them.

Trying hard to sit still for a picture!

"Can we feed them?"

"I can't put my hand in there?"

"Whoa!  Look at those huge fish!"

Zoo Trip Cancelled Due to Weather - No Problem!

Our trip to the Zoo was cancelled today because of the rain, so we made our own fun right here at school.  We did a scavenger hunt!  Zoo animals were hidden around the building, when we found them, we checked them off on our clipboards.  We still had fun!

FROGS!

We've been learning about frogs in class.  We made some really cool  frog hats! We also made cut-outs of frogs to hang in the hallway outside our classroom.  And we had fun doing worksheets about what frogs like to do and what they eat.  We love learning about frogs!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

We celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday in a big way!  We watched a documentary and learned that Dr. Seuss's real name was Theodor.  We also learned he loved animals and hats!  We read the book, Green Eggs and Ham, and then made our own version!

Learning Fire Safety Tips from Prevention 1st

Thank you to Bob Crandall and Molly Clifford and all the folks at Prevention 1st for teaching us all about fire safety.  We learned how to stay low, check the door to see if its hot, go to the window and yell for help, and the importance of a meeting place.

Always check with the back of your hand!

Is it safe to go out?

Throw something out to let everyone know you're there!

And always go to your meeting place!
